Getting to the event
The event takes place at Colehayes Park, Devon.
Note this is not the meeting point for the event– but is shown here for your ref!
The full address for the venue is:
Colehayes Park
Haytor Road
Newton Abbot
TQ13 9LD
Getting to the event:
- By Air. The nearest international airport to the venue is Bristol Airport. Bristol Airport is situated on the southwest side of Bristol city and is approximately a two-hour drive from the venue. The airport has regular bus connections to the city centre from which there are excellent travel links. Alternatively there are great travel connections from London Heathrow to Exeter (see below).
- By Rail. Exeter St David’s Train Station has great links to London and Bristol and is where the LARP bus will be picking the players up from. The actual nearest rail station is Newton Abbot which is a 20 min drive from the events meeting point. Participants would need to arrange their own taxi for this final leg.
- Pick up from Exeter St David’s train station.
- The organising team are arranging for centralised transport (‘LARP Bus’) directly from Exeter St David’s train station to the event and back. This costs an additional £30 in total for transport both ways, and you’ll need to sign up for this via the form sent to players. There are excellent links from London and Bristol to Exeter. For planning purposes you will need to be at Exeter Train Station by 11:30 on the first day of the event. Note there is more than one train station in Exeter so make sure you go to Exeter St David’s!
- For those of you who want to travel down to Exeter the night before (which seems likely given flight times) there are a good range of hotels available with Premier Inn Exeter Central St David’s hotel being very reasonably priced and close to the station (we advise booking early).
- By road. For those travelling by road, the event meeting point is: The Dolphin Pub. (post code TQ13 9AL) This is a good chance to grab yourself some pre-event lunch.
- From 12:00 -13:00: We’ll be gathering at the Dolphin and then walking you over to the briefing area for our workshops and safety talks etc.
- 13:00: workshops start – Scout Hut, St John’s Lane, TQ13 9FF
Parking for the event duration is available at the Station Road Car Park (next to Bovey Tracey Library), at the time of publishing it costs just £4.10 per day, and you can pay contactless by card or using the RingGo App on the day).
